Eastern Wing: Original

The debut album by Eastern Wing is first-class Melodic Metal!  After the nice intro “Pardu, Pardu”, "Kill Them All"  features a strong hookline and  singer Jeff Bonomo proves that Eastern Wing is a band not to be dismissed.  “Lookin' On Back” is a very melodic up-tempo rocker of which the chorus is extreme catchy, sung by Jay Kurtz. Many reviewers think, that “Lookin' On Back” is one of the strongest songs on the album, but for me it’s  “Hey Baby”. This slow and epic track is a real masterpiece, and it has an intensity, you hear not often. Kevin "Kause" Bredbenner, Candace Hess and Joe "Brick" Panzarella's  emotional guitars and Jeff Bonomo's fantastic voice are an impact of perfection. “Bus Driver” is another great song in the vein of classic Rush.

“Do Ya Wanna” is a straight Metal song, that reminded me a little of  Deep Purple. “Jim” is a powerful semi-ballad with brilliant guitars by Brick and very strong vocals by Bonomo again. For me, he is the new Ronnie James Dio - agressive and emotional at the same time!!! “Neil Karoll” is another straight up-tempo track. “Please God Save Us” is a great, powerful and epic ballad in the vein of old RAINBOW classics. It’s definitely going to be a classic.  Like this album. Excellent. Although there are a few down spots on this release I'm sure Eastern Wing will be back with something that will hit us even harder than "Original."
